Bribe the Dr before you get into the room.....

We had our monthly check up today and everything seems right on track. Heart rate was 147, and uterus was up to my belly button. :)
So other than trying to get an ultrasound today, I had 3 questions;
1) Gaining weight- I probably gained 10 lbs over the past 16 weeks- suppose to only be 6. SOOOoo I figured if I am at this rate now, sheww watch out Dairy Queen! But she said as long as I am eating healthy- it is ok.
2) Can I eat hot dogs?- "as a general rule of thumb, we tell patients no processed meat" DANG IT- ahhh I want a hot dog soo bad. How un-american is it to go all summer with out a hot dog??!!!!
3) Could I ride a bike DOWN the creeper trail?- "if it is an activity you were previously doing, you may continue to do so. But we don't promote new activities"
So ladies and gentlemen- the moral of this story is bribe the doctor prior to them getting in the room with your spouse, where they will tell you I told you so :)

Our next appointment will be 11am on Tues Sept 15th- this is our 'anatomy' appointment. So if all goes well should find out who will be joining the Rainey Adventures!

12:01 am :) I was told I had to start sleeping on my side, which I was not looking fwd too. But I did and followed instructions of positioning pillows- and wow, what a difference. I can't say I slept all night, but when I slept it was good-oood sleeping. No back pains when I woke up either. Thank you Jesus!
I get into work, and , well.......things have been pretty slow for me lately. But I found out today that I will actually have 'Red' work- WAHOOOO!!! That means I will be doing work in the new company and have 'dah skills to move fwd (or so much as they know :) ) God is Good!!!
THEN- my wonderful husband calls me to see if we can meet up for lunch- A DATE!!!!

Cake Decorating

A friend from our small group at church realized that I had taken cake decorating classes, and she was dying to learn. So I told her I would be happy to teach her. So on Saturday afternoon, 6 of us got together to learn the basics of cake decorating.
We covered how to make the icing, how to ice a cake and a couple of piping techniques. We went over boarders, star tips, writing and started roses. Everyone did an outstanding job! But we talked and ate more than we decorated..... or at least I did:)

Typical weekend morning

Every Saturday and Sunday morning is the same routine. All snug in bed in our fluffy bed, cool breeze from the fan, still dark in the bedroom. One of us stretches, or rolls over, and that is it. That is Winnie's cue that we are waking up. In stealth mode, she will come to one side of the bed and cover us with kisses, or sit there with her nose to ours until we wake up. Then it is all over, she will jump up on the bed and waller us until we get up. So by 7:30 we are up, get dressed and are out the door. We stop for a quick breakfast (usually Panera) and then head to the lake.

This is our favorite spot at Latta Plantation. You take Buzzard Rock trail, to Washrock, to Laura's Trail. The trail leads down to the water where there are HUGE boulders for winnie to jump off of. This is her happy spot. We love it because it is soo peaceful and quite. When we are lucky there isn't any one fishing nearby and we get the whole place to our selves. If we are really lucky- there is a nice breeze-ahhhh, can we say nap time ? :)

Made it through the first trimester!!

We officially made it!
So far soo good, and it was like a light switch- as soon as I hit week 12 no more nausea!!! I still get tired pretty easy, and am in bed by 7:30 when possible, but I will take that any day over being sick!
Not really 'showing' yet. James and I can see (and feel) a difference, but the clothes cover it up. But I fully expect that my pants will not fit with in a month. The chest is a different story. Still growing and very tender.
Although we go back to the Dr on the 26th, we will not be able to find out the sex until the middle of Sept.- and it is KILLING ME. Ahh, such a planner. I am ready to have the entire nursery decorated and stocked. But can't really do anything until we know :) So I am keeping all my ideas tucked away, and tally up how much everything will cost!!
I had no idea how much of a market this was!!! So do you get the Cadillac or do you get the prius? What I thought would be a good idea to get at consignment...hummmm... not soo much. The books I have been reading (thanks to Mel) really say you shouldn't get the crib or car seats 2nd hand. So we will probably need to spend some money on that, and it will become more of a need than a want. I am sure the sensible side will take over- that or James will :)

So enough of baby. Last weekend our college roommates came over. For those who do not know Rachel and Tom. Rachel was my roommate, and Tom was James'. James and I dated all through Milligan, but Rachel and Tom never really hung out together until after graduation. Now they are married and have a 2 month old Hudson.- Isn't it weird ? :)
Anywho, they came over last weekend. We went to the Cold Play concert- and honestly had no idea there would be that many people there! We got there late- intending to miss the opening act, and it was packed. The only opening was behind some lighting rafters. So not a great view of the band- but when you are that far back, nothing really is :) Music was really good, felt like we were backyard party or something.

Enough for today, getting ready to head out to the lake with Winnie. Will try and take some pics to post. Since it hasn't been soo hot today, should be able to stay out there a while to let her swim.

Getting better

Ok , maybe starting to get the hang of this. My really cool friend Renn showed me a website where I could get a new, free, background. So now I would like to figure out how to have music????

Still trying to figure all this out :) Just playing around to see what I can do.
